Diorama Comics is a publishing collective that strives to perfectly balance individuality and community.

On the side of individuality, the creators and authors and artists retain full ownership of and control over their own work, and all the profits generated by it.

On the side of community, all Diorama members promote and distribute everyone's work, thus giving each title much more of a push than any one person could do on their own. Diorama also provides a network of peers who are available for advice, information, and collaboration.

How it works if you're a member: The Diorama queen bee sends you a master copy of each comic as it comes out. You then print up as many copies as you think appropriate of each title, and sell them through the best avenues you can find. You keep back enough money to cover your printing costs, and send receipts and the profits to each creator and copies of inventory statements to Diorama.

But wait, you ask, why am I putting all this time and effort into distributing other people's comics if I don't get any of the money?

Because they are printing and selling your comics just as you are doing theirs, and sending that money to you. It all works out fairly even in the end, financially, and you get new readers in geographic locations and social circles you might otherwise not have easy access to. We here at headquarters are committed to making this work, and it can only do so if it is equitable and enjoyable for all, so we will make sure that no one is just mooching off the system.

For anthologies, each contributor gets a share of the profits.

So for creators, Diorama provides you with a financial and social support structure and an international distribution network and fanbase.

How it works if you're a reader: Diorama provides a handy way to get a number of new self-published comics from a single source. What more could you want?
